How to Be Ready to Rent Heavy Equipment

Construction companies rent heavy equipment for a cost effective, hassle free way to handle a wider variety of projects. To help your rental experience go as smoothly as possible, we put together some tips and best practices for being prepared to rent a machine for your next job.

Choose delivery or transportation?

With rental equipment from Heavy Machines LLC, you can choose to have us deliver the machine or you can pick up the machine and transport it on your own. For delivery, just provide us with the location, and make sure you have agreed on a time for the equipment to arrive at your site. If you’re moving the equipment on your own, then you need to ensure you have the correct load securing devices and that your trailer has sufficient capacity for the rental machine.

Rental equipment insurance

When you rent any heavy machines from us, we require that you have insurance that covers the equipment. We recommend you contact your insurance provider before starting the rental process to understand what steps you need to take. If you don’t have an insurance provider that will cover the equipment, call our rental department, and we can recommend one.

Rental equipment contract

Closely review your rental contract before you sign it. This document has important information concerning your responsibilities and obligations while you have the machines in your possession. If you have questions about anything in the agreement, make sure you ask one of our rental department team members before you sign it.

Damage responsibility when you rent heavy equipment

We ask that you treat our rental equipment as if it were your own. Machine abuse or negligence can cause supplemental fees, as can excessive staining or cosmetic damage that requires additional cleanup. If the equipment is damaged while it is under your control, be sure to document the damage, and immediately let your insurance carrier and our rental team know.

Credit approval and payment

We require credit approval in advance of renting heavy equipment from us. Before deciding which type of machine to rent, please have an acceptable payment method ready. If you’re not sure whether you have the credit necessary for approval, please contact our rental department to see what other options may be available for your business.
